Description
Antique "Anheuser Busch Inc." metal nameplate (or, emblem) with the familiar eagle-A logo, in good condition. Pressed metal, a shade over 6 3/8" long by 1 1/8" center tall at center and 7/8" at the ends. Chromed edges, words and logo, set against an ivory enamel background, with a bit of red enamel in the "A" of the logo. Two 3/8" long mounting posts on back.Logo is at nameplate center, between "Anheuser" and "Busch, Inc."; there's also a small "Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." below the logo. Embossed twice on back "G.J. Mayer Co. / Indianapolis". As best we can determine, this was originally on a refrigerator/cooler for Budweiser beer or a freezer for Anheuser Busch ice cream (made during Prohibition).
Nameplate is straight with no bends; both posts are firmly in place. Condition issues:
> Right edge is dented (see picture)
> Enamel is wrinkled along its border, and has a small nick beside the "I" in Inc.
> Chrome along top and bottom edges is worn
> Chrome on lettering is scuffed.
This is a fine addition to a collection of Anheuser Busch memorabilia. Price includes shipping in the U.S.; extra cost for International delivery based on the country. Please send a message if you have a question, and please see our other listings.
